Safety policy

As the Accountable Manager (AM) in European Line Maintenance (ELM), it is my responsibility to ensure a Just and Safety culture within the organisation and in all services provided. I will further assure that adequate resources and training are provided to manage safety effectively.

I encourage the organisation and any stakeholders to report safety events or potential hazards however insignificant they may consider them at the time. Safety reporting shall be done in an open, non-punitive reporting just culture that encourages free and frank reports.

The management as nominated by me are committed to embrace and promote a Just and Safe culture. Further on I will encourage the management to be present and available in the operational environment.

In addition, ELM is committed to ensuring the protection of operational and organisational information. All personnel shall handle sensitive data in accordance with applicable regulations and internal procedures, ensuring its confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

The main safety objectives

• Develop and embed a safety culture within the organisation and across services provided that recognizes the importance and value of effective safety management and acknowledges, always, that safety is everyone's responsibility.
• Apply Human factors principles in our daily work.
• Minimize the risks associated with airworthiness activities to a point which is As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP).
• Establish and monitor Safety Performance Indicators (SPI).
• Ensure externally supplied systems and services that impact upon the safety of services provided by the organisation meet appropriate safety standards.
• Recognise that compliance with organisation policies, procedures, safety standards and regulations are the duty of all personnel.
• Ensure that all staff are provided with adequate and appropriate aviation and health safety information and training, are competent in safety matters and are only allocated tasks commensurate with their skills.
• Conduct safety and management reviews and ensure relevant action is taken.
